Eid al-Adha Arafat Must Referring Standing 
  Surabaya: Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), East Java assess the Eid al-Adha should refer to the standing at Arafat.


"Eid al-Adha is supposed to be the same, because the reference to standing at Arafat," said Chairman of the DPD HTI Surabaya Ustadz Fikri A Zuhdiar in a press conference at the Office of the DPD HTI East Java, Monday (15/11).

Representing plantation management in East Java, he asserted that the large family of HTI will perform the Salat Eid al-Adha 1431 AH on 16 November 2010.

"We do Salat Eid al-Adha on Tuesday (16/11), because the Salat Eid al-Adha comes a day after the standing at Arafat," he said.

In Surabaya, he said, Salat Eid al-Adha, among others, will be held at Field Park Apsari, Surabaya.

According to him, standing at the Holy Land on Monday, November 15, 2010, as Amir in Saudi Arabia has set a Dhu al-Hijjah 1431 H falls on Sunday, November 7, 2010.

"Because of the Eid al-Adha coincides with 10 Dhu al-Hijjah, the time of Salat Eid al-Adha coincides with the 16th of November," he said.

To quote the hadith narrated by Abu Dawud and Ad Daruquthni, he explained, the Prophet Muhammad to the chiefs mandates Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj rituals based rukyat.

"If the chiefs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia failed merukyat, but there are two witnesses who managed merukyat fair, then Muslims perform Hajj rituals based on the testimony of both," he said.

Therefore, he said, Muslims around the world should implement Eid al-Adha when the pilgrims in Mecca is to slaughter their sacrifices on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah.

"The Prophet himself insisted that the pilgrims were standing at Arafat, because we were calling on Muslims, especially in Indonesia, to return to the provisions of sharia in fasting Arafah and Eid al-Adha 1431 H that is standing at Arafat," he said.

In addition to HTI, Muhammadiyah members also will perform Salat Eid al-Adha on 16 November 2010, even General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Prof. Din Syamsuddin will lead the Salat Eid al-Adha on page Tugu Pahlawan Surabaya.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has set a day of Eid al-Adha on 17 November 2010. Government decision was followed by Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). (Ant / riz)
